Don Osborne presented to the MLT city about Mercy House. The Mercy House committee will apply for the ARPA grant when available. The ARPA funds are not guaranteed, but prayers are welcomed.

Mercy House addresses the needs of the poor & marginalized

• Mercy House responds to two goals in our parish’s Strategic Plan: Encourage parishioners and local service groups to address the needs of the poor and marginalized in our community, and provide adequate space to accommodate current and future needs of parishioners and group ministries serving the parish. Mercy House will be a real-life example of who we are as a parish.

•  Mercy House will be a new facility to offer social services to those in need in South Snohomish County.

• Mercy House will include a full-time community resource advocate or navigator to determine the assistance that will help. 

• Mercy House will enable our own St. Vincent de Paul Society, Prepares, and Respect Life volunteers and CCS to greatly expand their services.

• Mercy House will work collaboratively with other providers in the community to avoid duplications or gaps in services.

• Mercy House will provide community service to all, regardless of faith, and will serve as a model for community partnerships among faith communities, non-profits and public agencies.

• Mercy House will include a multi-purpose room that will be available for parish use.

 
 St. Pius X Parish is offering the property currently occupied by our old rectory and is making a commitment to raise $200,000 toward the overall $1.4 million cost to build Mercy House. A very generous nearby Catholic family has donated $200,000, and CCS is committed to obtaining grant funds to cover the remaining $1,000,000 balance.
