We often think that evangelizing means going door to door pronouncing the name of Jesus and leading others to Christ our Savior. This is but one way to spread the Good News, but not the only way. When we think of evangelizing we should first look to Mary. She was the first evangelizer and disciple of her own Son, Jesus. She gave the first Gospel testimony to Elizabeth, in silence. In fact, scripture does not record many of her words.
However, there is no lack of her presence a the most significant events in the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. She always encountered God – in profound ways – from the beginning to the end of her life. In every encounter, she surrendered to love and was changed. Sometimes it is in the simpler, less recognized acts of our daily lives that we evangelize others the most. A random act of kindness, a smile or moment of patience can be the most profound way to draw another into the heart of God. Evangelizing begins with extending God’s love in every moment of the day. This is the life of a believer!
We hope to see you at Living Water Prayer Group, Friday nights at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the Social Hall for music, teaching and prayer ministry. We will meet every Friday night except Holy Week and Holy Days of Obligation that fall on Friday.
